Result

Describe the note format, the main window and the file rules so an AI assistant can build a first desktop version that never loses a note.

Example outcome — a main-window layout (list, editor, search), a plain file format for notes, save and autosave rules, and a first-version scope. This is an example plan, not an installed app.

Steps

  1. Choose the file format and folder layout first, so notes stay readable without the app.
  2. Sketch one window: a note list, an editor and a search box.
  3. Write the save rules: when it autosaves and what happens if two copies are open.
  4. Decide what the first version leaves out, such as sync, images or sharing.
  5. Ask the assistant for a first version, then close it mid-edit and check that nothing was lost.

Checks

  • Notes are saved as files you can open with any text editor.
  • Closing the app during an edit does not lose the last change.
  • Search finds a note by a word in its text.
  • The app only reads and writes inside the folder you chose.

Limits

  • It does not plan syncing between devices or encryption.
  • Signing and distributing an installer for other people is a separate task.
  • This is planning guidance: it does not build, publish, send, or run anything.
