Plan a short presentation — the one message, the slide-by-slide outline and the visuals — before building slides.

Suits

  • People preparing a talk, pitch, class or team update
  • Anyone who starts from a blank slide and gets stuck

Result

Produce a slide-by-slide outline with a clear message, speaker notes and visual direction that an AI assistant or slide tool can turn into a first deck.

Example outcome — a one-sentence message, an outline of 8–12 slides with a title and one point each, speaker notes, and a visual direction. This is an example plan, not a finished deck.

Steps

  1. Write the one sentence the audience should remember.
  2. Outline the slides so that each one makes a single point supporting that sentence.
  3. Decide which slides need a chart, photo or diagram, and which need only text.
  4. Add short speaker notes and check the timing against the slot.
  5. Ask the assistant or your slide tool for a first version, rehearse once aloud, and cut what drags.

Checks

  • Each slide makes one point that supports the main message.
  • The talk fits the time slot when rehearsed aloud.
  • Every figure and quote has a known source.
  • Text is readable from the back of the room.

Limits

  • Figures in the deck must come from your own sources; an assistant can format them but cannot verify them.
  • The final layout and its accessibility, such as contrast and font size, still need a human check.
  • This is planning guidance: it does not build, publish, send, or run anything.
